Sex Trafficking and Youth
We have a problem in our community. Girls as young as 13 years of age, in our neighbourhood, have been recruited into the sex trade. Thursday evening June 2nd at The Journey from 6:15pm to 8:15pm, a host of agencies including: Peel Regional Police, YMCA, Elizabeth Fry, The Region of Peel, Eclypse Youth Centre, Peel HIV/AIDS Network, Peel Children’s Aid Society and the Peel Committee Against Woman Abuse, will be making a presentation for our community about what to look for, who to contact and what resources are available. There is free babysitting, refreshments and hundreds of dollars of gift card door prizes available. This is an important issue, please come out to The Journey and find out what is being done and how you can help.
