Busy Week At The Journey!

Monday – 10am: Our Place presentation – Our Place is the only youth shelter in Peel, but they plan on opening a shelter in Brampton.  Come and hear about all of the services that Our Place offers for youth.

Tuesday – 7pm: Hammer Band Concert – Our youth along with youth from several other classes will be putting on a concert at Sir Wilfred Laurier Public School (Bartley Bull Parkway).  Come out and support our young people and enjoy a delightful hour of some pretty good violin music.  We have a bus leaving The Journey at 6:15pm and it will bring you back at the end of the concert!

Thursday – 6:15pm: Sex Trafficking and Youth – We have a serious problem in our community.  Girls as young as 13 years old have been offering sexual services.  So, we are hosting a community presentation from a number of different agencies including: YMCA, Elizabeth Fry Society, Peel Regional Police, Peel Committee Against Women Abuse, etc., etc.. This evening will inform you of what is happening, what to look for and what services are available.  We are providing babysitting, refreshments and some really great draw prizes.

All this is happening this week plus our great ongoing programs – Think Tank and Life Group on Tuesday, Women’s Wednesday on Wednesday, Early Years and Kidzone on Thursday and ARTStart on Saturday!
