Kyrel has always had an interest in serving and working with youth and the community. He has taught basketball and sports to children and youth, worked at a community centre, volunteered teaching teens basketball and also worked with youth through various non-profit organizations.
Kyrel is an honours graduate from York University, with a degree in Criminology, with a special interest in youth justice and social community development.
In his spare time, Kyrel enjoys watching movies, reading, writing and performing spoken word, and eating just about anything.
The Journey updated its internet connection, which meant we had to get a new phone number. Our new number is: 905-230-8 Triple 6. In case you are wondering about the “Tripe 6” I have written it this way, because of the potential of BOTS scanning our posts. We get enough calls for Duct Cleaning as it is!

Yes, once again we Canadians, the only people in the world, will celebrate Queen Victoria’s birthday. Therefore, The Journey Neighbourhood Centre will be closed on Monday, May 21st – God Save the Queen!
Don’t forget coming up on May 3rd, we will have a special guest speaker from the Canadian Mental Health Association!
We all know someone who struggles with mental health issues. And, most of us from time to time face challenges that affect our mental well being.
The evening will be an opportunity to understand better both our own mental health care needs and to recognize the challenges faced by family, friends, neighbours and co-workers.
