On the last Friday of every month the Community in Action committee meets at The Journey. This is an opportunity for community members, agency personnel and The Journey volunteers and staff to talk about the issues confronting the Ardglen/Orenda community and to look for the solutions needed.
So, this coming Monday, April 27th at 7pm, the CIA committee will meet. Everyone is welcome and there is a fresh pot of coffee on!

Tomorrow morning (Saturday, April 11th) from 9:00am to 12:00pm is a clothing exchange at North Bramalea United Church. I’m not sure why they call it an exchange, since you don’t have to bring clothes to trade, but anyway . . . come! If you have clothes to give away drop them off at the church this evening. If you need good used clothing, then come tomorrow morning.
North Bramalea’s address is: 363 Howden Blvd, Brampton, ON (905) 450-8003
You can find the church here: NBUC
We serve a community that has faced many tragedies and much sorrow. Today would have been Nicolas Gabriel’s 11 birthday. Tragically, Nicolas died in a house fire last June 8, 2014. We had the privilege of hosting a birthday celebration and remembrance with the Gabriel family and many community members this morning here at The Journey and at the cemetery. Please remember this community and the Gabriel family in particular. There are some pictures and posts on our facebook page.
On Tuesday, April 7/15 a support group for the parents of children with learning disabilities is meeting at The Journey. This is an opportunity to share ideas about education, technology, behavior management and looking at community supports.

We have two great events taking place this weekend. On Good Friday from 12:30pm – 3:00pm we will have a program of family events including: an Easter Egg hunt, crafts, and a choir. And, on Easter Sunday, we will have a pancake breakfast at 10am, while we watch the Easter service streamed live from North Bramalea United Church.
So come on out and celebrate Easter at the Journey!
